Dr. Dimitris Matiadis

Dr. Dimitris Matiadis is an Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition of the Agricultural University of Athens (since 2024). He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry (2013) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).

From 2013 to 2021, he conducted postdoctoral research at NTUA, NHRF, and NCSR “Demokritos” within nationally funded programs, focusing on the design and synthesis of bioactive compounds including heterocycles, cyclic peptides, and metal complexes. He has been awarded three research grants, including the RSC Research Fund (2025–2026) and IKY-SIEMENS (2015–2017).

He serves as an expert evaluator for funding bodies including the Science Fund of Serbia, RSC Researcher Grants (UK), and the National Science Center (Poland). He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Association of Greek Chemists, and the European Peptide Society. His research output includes 37 publications in peer-reviewed journals with over 500 citations (h-index 13).
