This course provides an introduction to the fundamental theories, history, and clinical principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), alongside an overview of Chinese herbal medicine. Students explore core concepts such as Yin–Yang, the Five Elements, organ and channel systems, vital substances, disease mechanisms, and approaches to prevention and treatment within the TCM framework. The course also introduces the foundations of Chinese Materia Medica, including the classification, properties, processing, and application of herbal medicines in historical and contemporary practice.
